A PROGRAM WITH A GOOD STUDENT ATMOSPHERE BUT INSUFFICIENT PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT AND LIMITED ACADEMIC RIGOR.

Avis de Hbbsohig_6338 - MSc 2 Management, speciality General Management - IAE Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management

  • Quel est, selon vous, le principal atout de ce programme ?

The diversity of the student cohort and the collaborative atmosphere among students.

  • Quelle est, selon vous, la principale faiblesse de ce programme ?

The lack of concrete support for students seeking alternance or internships, particularly for international students without an existing professional network in France.

  • Commentaires généraux

I enrolled in this program with the expectation that it would strongly support students in securing an alternance. As an international student, I relied heavily on the school’s network and guidance. Unfortunately, the level of support provided did not meet these expectations. Despite actively searching and keeping my tutor informed of my situation, I did not receive significant assistance. As a result, I have had to make the difficult decision to return to my home country in order to find an internship.

    Contenu académique du programme

The academic content is interesting in theory, but in practice the level of academic rigor is quite low. Many classes rely almost exclusively on student presentations, which often means that learning outcomes depend more on group work than on structured teaching or in-depth analysis.

  • 310

    Moyens pédagogiques (bibliothèque, WIFI, locaux)

The basic educational resources are acceptable, but they are not a defining strength of the program. And lately the Internet has been failing.

  • 710

    Qualité des professeurs permanents

Some professors are very knowledgeable and motivated, but the overall teaching structure could be improved. The program sometimes lacks consistency in academic expectations and pedagogical methods.

Contrôle des connaissances, volume et répartition des cours, travail personnel

The organization of the academic calendar is problematic. The long alternating blocks of study and work (several months of classes followed by work periods) make it very difficult to secure an alternance. Many companies prefer students who can alternate weekly between school and work, or who are available full-time after finishing courses.

    Accompagnement/aide si départ à l'étranger

If this question also refers to the study tour organized by the program, I would say that the organization could have been significantly better. Much of the information was communicated at the last minute, which made it difficult for students to plan properly. As students with limited budgets, having to book flights on very short notice created unnecessary stress and additional costs. A clearer and earlier communication regarding dates and logistics would greatly improve this experience.

Services aux étudiants (orientation, projet pro., scolarité, etc.)

Student services exist but they could be much more proactive in supporting students’ professional projects. Many of us feel that we must navigate the job search process largely on our own.

  • 710

Ambiance, cohésion dans la promo (projets, entraide, loisirs, associations)

The cohort atmosphere is positive and students generally support each other. The group dynamic is one of the most positive aspects of the program.

Ville étudiante, logement (coût, accès, situation)

Aix-en-Provence is a pleasant city for students, but housing is expensive and difficult to find. This becomes especially challenging for students who must come to campus only periodically due to the program structure.

  • 110

    Réseau des anciens, contacts professionnels

Unfortunately, networking opportunities have been limited. As an international student, I expected the school to play a stronger role in connecting students with companies and professionals. In practice, most students rely on their own networks.

  • 110

Qualité du directeur de programme et notoriété de la formation

Communication and support from program management could be improved. In particular, stronger partnerships with companies and more proactive support for foreign students searching for alternance would significantly increase the program’s value.

  • 110

Stages et aide à l'insertion professionnelle

This is one of the weakest aspects of the program. I regularly informed my tutor about my job search situation, but the support I received was minimal. Despite numerous applications and interviews, I did not receive meaningful assistance in connecting with companies or identifying opportunities.

Êtes-vous globalement satisfait de votre formation ?

Overall, I am disappointed with my experience in this program. I enrolled with the expectation of completing it through an alternance, as it was presented as a strong possibility with support from the school. However, the level of guidance and support provided to help students secure an alternance or internship has been far below my expectations, especially for international students who do not already have a professional network in France.

Referiez-vous le même choix de formation aujourd’hui ?

Honestly, knowing what I know now, I would probably not choose this program again. My decision to enroll was largely based on the expectation that the program would actively help students find alternance opportunities. Without that support, the value of the program becomes significantly lower.
